The National leadership of The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is scheduled to have an emergency meeting tonight.

Top on the agenda is the arrest of Former Governor of Akwa Ibom state, Senator Godswill Akpabio by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Friday 16th October 2015.

“On the issue of the alleged arrest of Senator Akpabio, the PDP has called an emergency meeting and will look at the issues holistically. We have an emergency meeting with the leadership tonight where we will discuss this matter and then we will make our position known” said Olisa Metuh

Senator Godswill Akpabio who is also the Senate Minority Leader, was summoned by the EFCC for allegedly defrauding the state of N101.8b, mismanagement of state funds and piling up debts for the State.

Senator Godswill Akpabio has however denied the reports of his arrest, claiming that he was only invited by the EFCC and as an exemplary Citizen, He honored the invitation.
