Operatives of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) on Wednesday stopped a woman from committing suicide with her baby.

Halimat Adegoke, 27, (not real names) reportedly tried to jump into the Lagoon from the Third Mainland Bridge at about 5:00pm before RRS riders intervened.

The woman, who was taken to RRS headquarters at Alausa, said she trekked from Medina Estate in Gbagada to the Third Mainland Bridge because a voice kept telling her to go there.

The police said it was a cab driver who signalled the RRS riders on routine patrol about the incident.

The woman said she had issues with her husband and later moved to her parent’s house in Gbagada.
