Police Arraigns Fake Ekiti Pastor & His Brother For Alleged Fraud

A fake Pastor, Ademola Alade and his brother, Adewumi Alade were on Thursday arraigned in an Ado-Ekiti Magistrates’ Court for fraud worth N1.7
million.

The Prosecutor, Sgt. Caleb Leranmo told the court that the accused, standing trial for N1.7 million fraud, committed the offense on Nov. 7, 2014.

He said that the accused, under false pretense of being a pastor, fraudulently obtained the N1.7 million from 7 different people, who are seeking
employment into the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC).

The prosecutor gave the names of the victims as Femi Olowo, Emmanuel Ojo, Ireti Ojo, Gbenga Oluwasuyi, Kayode Dada, Fisayo Olubumo and Ayodele Omosowon.

The accused persons, who were arraigned on a 4-count charge, pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The defense counsel, Busuyi Ayorinde, prayed the court to grant bail to the accused in liberal term, saying that they would not jump bail.

Magistrate Doyin Akosile consequently granted the accused bail in the sum of N50, 000 and two sureties each in like sum, who must be a civil servant on
grade level 14.

She adjourned the case till July 27 for further hearing.
