Pres. Buhari Saves $1m By Cancelling Govt. Delegation to Hajj

The Nigerian government won’t be sending a delegation for the 2015 hajj in Saudi Arabia

Malam Garba Shehu, Senior Special Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on Media and Publicity made the announcement on Monday . He quoted the president as saying that the decision was not targeted at any individual or group.

”The states can deal with that (meaning appointment of own delegations) but this year at the Center, we will not be involved” Shehu said.

The decision is expected to save the Nigerian government at least $1million.
