ABUJA, Nigeria — The Presidency has distanced itself from claims surrounding the purported appointment of an individual under an organisation identified as the “Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council,” declaring that no such office exists within the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Okay News reports that the clarification was issued in a public disclaimer signed by the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, following reports that a man identified as Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi had been presenting himself as an appointee of the Presidency through the alleged organisation.
According to the statement, the Office of the Chief of Staff became aware that Adeyemi, operating under the banner of the so-called Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council, was portraying himself to members of the public as having received an official appointment from the Presidency. The government said such claims are false and should be disregarded.
Gbajabiamila stated that no appointment has been made in that regard and emphasised that the alleged council has no official recognition under the current administration. He urged the public to exercise caution and avoid being misled by representations linked to the organisation.
The Presidency further called on foreign and diplomatic missions, financial and multilateral institutions, development organisations, security agencies and other stakeholders to take note of the disclaimer and disregard any claims suggesting official backing or authority from the Federal Government.
The notice, dated June 11, 2026, reaffirmed that any legitimate appointments or government bodies are communicated through recognised official channels of the Federal Government.
