President Buhari Pardons 500 Inmates In Kano

By Farouk Mohammed

President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday freed 500 inmates at the Kurmawa Central Prisons in Kano metropolis.

This is part of the Federal Government’s measures to decongest prisons in the country, the president said.

Buhari urged the inmates to be of good behaviour and halt any act that may return them to the prison.

He equally admonished them to embark on lawful ventures so they can be useful to the nation.

The president also gave the inmates an undisclosed amount of money as transportation to their homes.

On his part, Governor Abdullahi Ganduje advised the inmates to be of good behaviour.

The president is on a two-day official visit to Kano state.
