Paris Saint-Germain F.C. secured a commanding 5–2 victory over Chelsea F.C. in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League Round of 16 clash, leaving the English side facing a difficult task in the return leg.
Okay News reports that PSG opened the scoring through Bradley Barcola, but Chelsea responded when Malo Gusto found the net to level the match. The French champions regained the lead before halftime after Ousmane Dembélé produced a clinical finish following a quick counterattack.
Chelsea fought back again early in the second half, with Enzo Fernández scoring to make it 2–2. However, a costly mistake by goalkeeper Filip Jørgensen allowed Vitinha to restore PSG’s advantage and shift momentum back to the home side.
PSG then sealed the victory late on as Khvicha Kvaratskhelia scored twice, including a powerful long-range strike, giving the French side a three-goal advantage ahead of the second leg at Stamford Bridge.
