Reps urge Buhari to hasten appointment of cabinet

The House of Representatives has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to quickly appoint his cabinet for his second tenure.

Okay.ng learnt that Toby Okechukwu, a lawmaker, raised the motion during plenary on Tuesday.

Mohammed Monguno, another lawmaker, opposed the motion through a point of order, explaining that the constitution does not provide a time frame for the appointment of ministers by the President.

However, Okechukwu, noted that his motion does not suggest that there is a time frame for the President to appoint his cabinet but only seeks to urge him to appoint them urgently.
