Sam Altman Reacts After Removal as OpenAI CEO

By Yusuf Abubakar

Following the announcement of his removal as CEO of OpenAI, Sam Altman took to Twitter to share his thoughts on the decision.

In a post via his official X account, Altman expressed deep appreciation for his time at OpenAI, describing it as a transformative experience both personally and, hopefully, for the world.

His post read, “I loved my time at OpenAI. It was transformative for me personally, and hopefully the world a little bit. Most of all, I loved working with such talented people. Will have more to say about what’s next later.”

OpenAI had in a statement on Friday announced the removal of Sam Altman from his position as CEO after a thorough review process conducted by the board, citing concerns about Altman’s communication transparency and its impact on the board’s ability to fulfill its responsibilities.

The company in the statement announced that Mira Murati, OpenAI’s Chief Technology Officer (CTO), will assume the role of interim CEO.
