By Oluwadara Akingbohungbe

The Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has emphasized his administration’s dedication to supporting private enterprise while applauding the export of 11 containers of agricultural commodities to China, Okay.ng reports.

These commodities, including Sesame Seeds, Cassia Tora, and Mica, were shipped through the Nigerian Exporters Hub, an initiative aimed at promoting non-oil exports from Nigeria.

During the event in Ikeja on Monday, Sanwo-Olu highlighted the significance of value-added exports and urged Nigerian businesses to consider opportunities beyond raw materials.

The Governor was represented by Titilayo Adeshina, Director of Commerce at the Lagos State Ministry of Commerce, Cooperative, Trade, and Investment.

The event was organized by NEXHUB in collaboration with the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture to unveil the first batch of exports from Lagos to China.

The Governor commended NEXHUB for its efforts and encouraged the firm to continue innovating and exploring new markets.

The Chairman of NEXHUB, Victor Ayemere, explained that the firm aims to simplify the export process and empower Nigerians to participate in exportation, generating foreign exchange. He noted that NEXHUB offers training programs and practical guidance for exporters and assists them in finding markets and advising on export opportunities through the Nigerian Export Trade House in China.
