Senate Embark On 3-Week Break For Eid-el-fitr Celebration

The Upper Chambers on Thursday embarked on a three-week break to celebrate the second anniversary of the 8th Assembly and eid-el-fitr festival.

The Senate and the House of Representatives of the 8th National Assembly had on Friday 9th June 2017 marked its 2nd anniversary.

During the anniversary celebration, past presiding officers and leaders of political parties were in attendance.

Also, Muslim faithful across the world would be celebrating the feast of Eid-El-Fitri on 25th and 26th June 2017.

At the end of plenary Thursday, the Senate Leader, Ahmed Lawan moved for an adjournment which was seconded by the Minority Leader, Godswill Akpabio.

The Senate, thereafter, adjourned plenary to Tuesday, 4th July, 2017, for legislative activities.
