Seplat Energy CEO Roger Brown Regains Work Permit, Resumes Leadership Position

By Muhammad A. Aliyu

Seplat Energy, a leading indigenous energy company in Nigeria, has announced the restoration of the working permit, combined expatriate residence permit, and aliens card (CERPAC), as well as other visas for the entry and stay in Nigeria of their Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Mr. Roger Brown.

This development comes after the Ministry of Interior (Ministry) and the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) withdrew these immigration documents following false allegations made against the CEO.

Previously, certain individuals parading as “concerned workers and stakeholders of Seplat Energy Plc” had raised allegations of racism, unfair prejudice, discrimination, and improper immigration status against Mr. Brown.

The Ministry responded by conducting verification checks, during which the company fully cooperated.

Following a thorough investigation, the Immigration Authorities have now reinstated Mr. Brown’s immigration status.

With the restoration of his immigration documents, Mr. Brown can now validly enter, work, and stay in Nigeria.

Seplat Energy in a statement signed by Mr. Basil Omiyi, the Independent Chairman of the company, on Tuesday, expressed their pleasure to announce that Mr. Brown has resumed his position as CEO, effective immediately.
