Shettima Arrives Delta to Represent President Tinubu at Burial Ceremony

Asaba, NIGERIAVice President Kashim Shettima arrived in Delta State on Saturday, April 18, 2026, to represent President Bola Tinubu at the burial of elder statesman Pa Israel Chinwuba Ogbue.

The late Ogbue was the father-in-law of Tony Elumelu, the Chairman of United Bank for Africa (UBA).

Okay News reports that Shettima was received upon arrival by Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, former Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, and Senator Ned Nwoko.

The Vice President is expected to deliver a tribute on behalf of the President as political and business leaders gather to pay their final respects to the patriarch. The delegation of top dignitaries present for the ceremony highlights the significant standing of the late Pa Israel Chinwuba Ogbue within the community and the nation.

Earlier on Saturday, Shettima was in Maiduguri alongside other All Progressives Congress (APC) leaders for a wedding ceremony involving the family of Governor Babagana Umara Zulum.

The burial proceedings in Delta State are ongoing as of Saturday afternoon.
