By Oluwadara Akingbohungbe

Vice President Kashim Shettima has made a passionate appeal to politicians in Kano State, urging them to set aside their political differences and embrace peace for the greater good of the region, okaynews.com reports.

The call was made during a condolence visit to the family of the late Galadiman Kano, Alhaji Abbas Sanusi, who passed away two weeks ago.

In a statement released by Mustapha Muhammad, Chief Press Secretary to the Kano State Governor, Shettima emphasized the need for harmony among Kano’s political actors. “Please, I beg you all, do not let politics divide you. Stay united,” he urged. “Kano is the heart of the North, and I am part of the North. May Allah bring unity among us all”.

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, speaking on behalf of the government and people of Kano, expressed gratitude to the Vice President for the visit and prayed for his safe journey. A representative of the bereaved family, Alhaji Sunusi Abbas, also thanked Shettima, expressing hope that the loss of the Galadiman Kano would serve as a catalyst for unity among the state’s political leaders.
