Soldiers Storm Banex Plaza in Abuja Following Assault on Colleagues

Armed soldiers have stormed Banex Plaza in Abuja in response to the assault on some of their colleagues by a mob, Okay.ng reports.

The plaza, known for its sale of electronic gadgets and mobile phones, became a flashpoint after a dispute over the sale of faulty gadgets escalated into violence.

Eyewitnesses reported that a group of thugs attacked at least two soldiers in uniform, subjecting them to slaps, kicks, and beatings.

The incident caused panic among traders, many of whom hastily closed their shops and fled to avoid potential repercussions.

The situation intensified when, just hours after the assault, armed soldiers arrived at the market. Their presence created further tension, with many traders fearing a reprisal attack.

The motive behind the initial mob attack remains unclear, but it has raised concerns about the safety and security of both traders and customers in the busy marketplace.

Authorities are yet to release an official statement on the incident.
