Tinubu Extends Immigration Boss Kemi Nandap’s Tenure

President Bola Tinubu has approved the extension of the tenure of Kemi Nandap, Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), until December 31, 2026.

Okay.ng reports that the extension was announced on Monday in a statement by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy.

Nandap, who joined the NIS in 1989, was appointed as Comptroller-General on March 1, 2024, and her initial tenure was due to expire in August 2025.

According to the presidency, President Tinubu granted the extension in recognition of her contributions and the progress made under her leadership.

“The NIS has witnessed significant advancements under the leadership of Kemi Nandap,” the statement said.

President Tinubu also lauded Nandap’s leadership style, commending her for her “exemplary performance” and urging her to continue aligning the agency’s objectives with the Renewed Hope Agenda of the federal government.

“President Tinubu commended the Comptroller-General for her exemplary leadership and urged her to continue dedicating herself to the Service’s strategic priorities,” the statement added.

The President further reaffirmed his commitment to supporting the NIS in fulfilling its national mandate.

“The President reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting the Nigeria Immigration Service in fulfilling its mandate to protect Nigeria’s territorial integrity and promote safe, legal, and orderly migration,” the statement read.
