Tinubu Mourns Flood Victims, Pledges Support

By Adamu Abubakar Isa

President Bola Tinubu has expressed deep sympathy for the victims of the recent floods that have devastated communities and farmlands across Nigeria. According to the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), the floods have resulted in loss of lives, damage to thousands of hectares of farmlands, and displacement of thousands of people.

In a statement by Chief Ajuri Ngelale, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, President Tinubu commiserated with the bereaved families, farmers, displaced communities, and those who have lost property. He emphasized the need for a concerted effort to address environmental concerns and build a more climate-resilient society.

The President assured Nigerians that his administration would continue to provide support for victims through relevant agencies, as well as timely warnings to mitigate the impact of environmental disasters. He also prayed for the repose of the souls of the deceased.

This comes as the country grapples with the aftermath of the floods, with many calling for urgent action to address the environmental challenges facing Nigeria.
