In a significant move ahead of the upcoming inauguration of the 10th national assembly, President Bola Tinubu has scheduled a meeting with opposition national assembly lawmakers-elect.

The meeting is slated to take place on Monday at the state house, marking a crucial step in the country’s political landscape.

According to an invitation signed by Tijanni Umar, the permanent secretary in the state house, the president will convene with the senators-elect at 3:00 pm, while the meeting with the house of representatives-elect is scheduled for 5:00 pm.

In preparation for the meeting, Umar has requested the soon-to-be lawmakers to submit their names for security clearance.

This precautionary measure underscores the significance and seriousness of the upcoming discussions.

Although the specific agenda of the meeting remains undisclosed, it is widely believed to be closely tied to the process of selecting the presiding officers of the incoming national assembly.

This development has sparked intense speculation and anticipation among political observers and the public alike.
