Tinubu to Deliver National Broadcast on Democracy Day

By Muhammad A. Aliyu

President Bola Tinubu is scheduled to address the nation in a televised broadcast on the occasion of Democracy Day, scheduled for 7 a.m. on Wednesday, June 12, 2024.

In a statement released by the State House on Monday, Chief Ajuri Ngelale, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, announced that television, radio stations, and other electronic media outlets have been advised to tune in to the network services of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) and the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) to air the presidential broadcast.

The Democracy Day address by the President is a long-standing tradition in Nigeria, marking the country’s journey towards democratic governance and reflecting on the progress made in consolidating democratic principles and values.

It remains to be seen what key messages and policy directions President Tinubu will outline in his national address, which comes at a time when Nigerians are grappling with various socio-economic challenges and have high expectations from the new administration.
