Trump Pushes Justice Department to Release Epstein Files Naming Democrats

By Adamu Abubakar Isa

US President Donald Trump has urged the Justice Department to release any files linked to late financier Jeffrey Epstein that mention Democrats, calling for those involved to be publicly embarrassed.

Okay News reports that Trump made the demand as the DOJ continues to review and release millions of documents connected to Epstein, who died in a New York jail in 2019 while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges.

Trump accused Democrats of driving what he described as a political distraction, insisting that they—not Republicans—were the ones who worked with Epstein. He made the remarks on his Truth Social platform, where he criticised the continued focus on the case and called it a “witch hunt,” while urging authorities to publish all names linked to Democratic figures.

The renewed controversy follows recent document releases that reportedly include references to Trump himself, such as records of flights on Epstein’s private jet.

The Justice Department has defended the president, saying some claims in the files are untrue and sensational, while also citing the need to protect victims’ identities as a reason for delays in releasing the records in full.
