Trump Skips Son’s Wedding to Remain at White House During ‘Important Period’

By Adamu Abubakar Isa

WASHINGTON, United States – U.S. President Donald Trump has announced that he will not attend the wedding of his son, Donald Trump Jr., saying he must remain at the White House because of pressing government responsibilities.

Okay News reports that Trump made the announcement in a public statement on Friday, saying national matters and his commitment to the United States made it impossible for him to leave Washington, D.C., at what he described as an “important period of time.”

“While I very much wanted to be with my son, Don Jr., and the newest member of the Trump Family, his soon to be wife, Bettina, circumstances pertaining to Government, and my love for the United States of America, do not allow me to do so,” Trump stated.

The president added that he believed it was necessary for him to stay at the White House rather than travel for the ceremony.

“I feel it is important for me to remain in Washington, D.C., at the White House during this important period of time,” he said, before congratulating the couple.

The announcement comes amid heightened international tensions and ongoing political developments in Washington, with Trump continuing to oversee major foreign policy and economic matters during his administration.
