US President Donald Trump Says White House Dinner Shooting Will Not Deter Iran War

Washington, United States: US President Donald Trump stated on Saturday, April 25, 2026, that a shooting at the White House Correspondents’ Association dinner will not deter him from the ongoing war with Iran.

Okay News reports that Trump addressed reporters during a briefing at the White House, indicating he did not believe the incident was linked to the conflict.

“It’s not going to deter me from winning the war in Iran. I don’t know if that had anything to do with it, I really don’t think so, based on what we know,” Trump said.

He had earlier stated that “you never know” if the shooting could be linked to the war, noting that investigators were working to determine the motive of the shooter he described as a “lone wolf.”

Earlier on Saturday, the president canceled a trip by his envoys to Pakistan designed for peace talks.

The cancellation occurred after he was unimpressed with the negotiating position of Tehran following nearly two months of war.
