VAR will be used at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations – CAF

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has revealed that Video Assistant Referee [VAR] will be used at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations tournament.

The tournament will be hosted in Egypt and will officially kick off on June, 21 to July 19, 2019.

Yesterday, CAF had its meeting in Niamey, Niger Republic, the body agreed that the technology will be used when the competition kicks off in June.

This will be the first time VAR will be used in the history of Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
