Vice President Shettima Dispels Claims of Tinubu’s Bias Against North

By Adamu Abubakar Isa

Vice President Kashim Shettima has dismissed allegations that President Bola Tinubu is working against the interests of Northern Nigeria. Speaking in Kano on Wednesday, Shettima emphasized that Tinubu has demonstrated goodwill towards the region through various appointments, including two Ministers of Defence, the Chief of Defence Staff, and the Chairman of the Police Service Commission, all from the North.

Shettima urged Nigerians to support Tinubu’s efforts to make Nigeria great, stressing that governance transcends political party affiliations. He emphasized the importance of unity and progress over party differences, citing the support he received from the Kano State Government, led by Gov. Abba Yusuf of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), during his time of bereavement.

The Vice President called for collective efforts to achieve greatness, stating that Nigeria’s progress is a collective responsibility that surpasses political party affiliations. He encouraged unity and cooperation among all political parties, emphasizing that ensuring Nigeria’s greatness is a shared responsibility.

Shettima’s statement comes as a response to concerns raised about Tinubu’s policies and their potential impact on the North.
