Widespread Concern in Ondo as Two Adekunle Ajasin University Students Vanish Without Trace

In Ondo State, anxiety is escalating following the unexplained disappearance of two undergraduates from Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko. The students, Andrel Okah from the Department of History and International Studies and John Abba from the Department of Economics, have been missing for over two weeks, sparking fears among their peers and the wider community.

A fellow student, Ajibola, expressed deep concern: “Two students have been missing classes and academic activities on campus, their whereabouts had sparked outcry and concerns among fellow coursemates… We have searched everywhere. We can’t find them, and we’re worried about their whereabouts… We don’t even know if it is a case of kidnapping or something else.” Ajibola added that attempts to contact the missing students by phone have been unsuccessful, and despite reporting to the school authorities and police, no substantial progress has been made. “They only said that we should be calm and that there’s probability that they both went for vacation, but the students’ community is already worried and also agitated,” he lamented.

Okay.ng reports that the university’s spokesperson, Mr. Victor Akinpelumi, was unavailable for comment. However, a senior university official disclosed that the matter is under police investigation. “The university management is aware of the case, but we are suspecting lots of development relating to the missing students… We are in touch with the police on the matter and to unravel what exactly could have led to this,” the official said confidentially.

The state police image maker, Ayanlade Olayinka, confirmed that the investigation is ongoing, leaving the community hopeful for answers soon.
