Zamfara governor appoints new Emir of Maru

Governor of Zamfara state, Bello Matawalle has appointed Abubakar Gado Maigari as new Emir of Maru.

Okay.ng had earlier reported that the governor removed Abubakar Cika as the emir following allegations of connivance with armed bandits and cattle rustlers in the state.

Mahdi Aliyu Gusau, the Deputy Governor of Zamfara, in the appointment letter said Maigari was appointed based on merit, as well as his experience.

The deputy governor charged new emir to discharge his duties diligently and work hard to maintain the existing peace in his domain.

Until his appointment, Abubakar Gado was the senior district head of Maru East, in Maru Local Government Area of the state and also served as the secretary of the emirate for many years.
