Ahead of the 2015 general election, Kaduna State incumbent governor, Mukhtar Ramalan Yero, immediate past secretary to the state government, Lawal Samaila Yakawada, former aviation minister, Hassan Hyat and Senator Haruna Zego Aziz have been cleared to contest the 2015 governorship election in the state under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
This was also as other aspirants from the North-west zone, who were equally screened and cleared, have promised democratic dividends to their subjects if elected into office in 2015.
Governor Yero and all the other aspirants were issued certificates of clearance by the panel. The zone is headed by Dr Steve Oru, the minister of Niger Delta Affairs. Speaking after his clearance, Governor Yero expressed satisfaction with the transparent manner in which the exercise was conducted.
Yero said: “I am happy and satisfied with the strict adherence to due process by the committee”.
