The team which stormed the market at about 11am was observed condoning off the area with roofing sheets.

It was learnt that the action of the task force was in compliance with the deadline given the traders by the state government after they were asked to relocate to a new site.

Many of the traders were seen hurriedly moving their wares and belongings out of the market.

A trader who did not want his name in print said that though they had been informed previously about the relocation, they needed some more time as they did not have enough money to relocate.

The operators pulled down the fences built by the task force.

The deadline for the relocation of the market is today.
