The award-winning cinematographer took to his Instagram today to call out the organisers of the awards show for snubbing two of his colleagues- Mex and Aje Filmworks- in the Best Music Video category. According to Clarence, whose video for Falz and Simi’s Soldier was nominated in the category, Mex and Aje filmworks were more that deserving of a Headies nomination.

He wrote: “In a year when these men gave us some of the most amazing visual interpretations, mainly: Dare’s Pray for me by @mexemania & Kiss Daniels’ Jombo by @ajefilmswork, respectfully, it breaks my heart that the Headies don’t deem it feet (sic) to recognise their out standing work. We know what we put in,awards don’t define us,WE DEFINE POPULAR CULTURE not just in Nigeria, but across the continent, so I salute u all.”
