Ten million euro wage demand by the Nigerian captain may have stopped La Liga club Valencia’s interest to sign him this winter, it has been revealed.

Valencia reportedly offered the Chelsea midfielder three million euros wages per season, which was he rejected.

The Nigeria skipper found himself out of favour at Stamford Bridge after representing the Dream Team at the 2016 Olympic Games, and his representatives are looking to find him a club in the January transfer window.

A move to Asia looks the most feasible option as he has demanded ten million euros wages per season from interested clubs.

The 29-year-old Mikel is in the final six months of his contract with the Blues.
