Djimon Housou

Djimon Gaston Hounsou a Beninese-American actor and model who is currently in Nigeria is in the North East, Nigeria where he went to visit the victims of Boko Haram violence, with an aim of giving them listening ear and bringing the attention of the world to their plight.

According to him,” I am in North East #Nigeria with @Oxfam. Millions of people here and in Niger, Chad, Cameroon have been affected by conflict between Boko Haram and military operations to counter them.

“In Nigeria alone, almost two million people have been displaced. I’m here in Farm Centre camp, home to 13,000 people forced to flee their homes, where Oxfam is providing water through solar powered boreholes. I’m here to learn more about the crisis and how Oxfam is responding. #team234 #humanitarian photo credit @tomsaater /Oxfam”.

What an amazing journey he has embarked on, he traveled all the way from the United States to visit people that do not have the same heritage with him. What compassion yet some of these so called celebrities have never taken out time to visit their own people and even render little help to them. They are busy flaunting their new cars, houses, among others.

If you are a celebrity and you have not done anything for the internally displaced people, kindly learn from the Hollywood actor Djimon Hounsou.
