Pope Francis Condemns Anambra Catholic Church Attack

Pope Francis on Tuesday condemned the Sunday massacre of churchgoers in St. Philip’s Catholic Church in Ozubulu, Anambra state.

In a telegram dated August 7 and addressed to Bishop Hilary Paul Okeke of Nnewi, the Holy Father expressed his deep sadness at learning of the injuries sustained and the lives lost in the violent attack.

He prayed the families of the deceased the strength to bear the burden as he extended his condolences and blessings on the entire diocese.where scores of persons were killed.
