NJC Releases Names Of 60 Judges Recommended For Appointment In 25 States

The National Judicial Council (NJC) on Friday released the names of 60 judicial officers recommended for appointment by governors of 24 states.

Two of the successful judges were recommended as the Chief Judges of Ondo and Plateau States, Justices O.O Akeredolu and ‎Yakubu Dakwak, respectively.

NJC’s Director, Information, Soji Oye, in a statement said the council made the recommendations at its 85th meeting.

According to Oye, the three nominated for judges of Adamawa State High Court are, Danladi Muhammed, Fatima Ahmed Tafida ad Bulila Ladukiya Ikharo.

Two were recommended for appointment as Akwa Ibom State High Court judges. They are Bassey Bassey Nkanang and Uwem Freedom Ibritam .

Only Josephine Mbayan Ayua was recommended for appointment as Benue State High Court judge.

For Cross Rivers State High Courts, the successful candidates are Imelda Etope Bassey, Obo Awusa Obo, and Emmanuel Ubua Agianpuye.

Delta State has the highest number of five nominees and the successful candidates are Dafe Celestina Idise, Egwu Joe, Okorodas Anthony Ezonfade (Dr.), Ideh Blessing Adaoleh , and Edun Ajueyitsi Joshua.

For Edo State, the candidates recommended for appointments are Irobosa O. A. Omotosho And Aigbona T. Momodu.

For Sokoto State, the candidates are Kabiru Ibrahim Ahmed and Isah Muhammed Bargaja.
Only Adamu Muhammed Kafin-Madaki was recommended for Bauchi State High Court.
