Olisa Metuh Weeps In Court As Doctor Explains his Health Condition

Ex-national spokesman of the Peoples Democratic Party Olisa Metuh wept in court on Monday as his doctor told the trial judge that his patient needs medical aide outside Nigeria.

Metuh is facing trial for alleged diversion of N400 million received from the office of former National Security Adviser Col. Sambo Dasuki.

Justice Okon Abang was advised by the doctor to allow Metuh travel as his health condition was getting worse.

Justice Abang said the court would seek the opinion of the Chief Registrar of the court on the recommendations of the doctor.

It was gathered that the judge had rebuked Metuh’s counsel, Emeka Etiaba, for his ‘rudeness’ to the court.

Etiaba had earlier expressed disapproval after Justice Abang overruled his application for withdrawal of the case.

This occurred after Metuh collapsed in court trying to make his way to the dock.

Etiaba then said he could not proceed with the trial when his client was lying on the floor.

But the judge continued with the trial as he insisted that Metuh’s counsel call his eleventh witness.

The case was later adjourned to May 22 for continuation.
