Kano House of Assembly Summons Editor Who Released Ganduje’s Bribery Video

The Kano State House of Assembly has summoned the Editor-in-Chief of Daily Nigerian, Ja’afar Ja’afar, over the video released by the online newspaper allegedly showing Governor Abdullahi Ganduje collecting bribe.

The invitation was extended to Ja’afar by the committee set up by the Assembly to investigate the authenticity of the video clip released by the news platform.

The committee’s Secretary, Mujtafa Aminu, made the disclosure during an interview with reporters in Kano on Friday.

Aminu said the committee had in a letter dated Oct. 19, 2018 requested Ja’afar to appear before the committee on Thursday, Oct. 26 at the Assembly’s Complex.

On the issue of safety to the journalist’s life, he said adequate security had been provided as the committee had already visited the Commissioner of Police in the state, Rabi’u Yusuf, and the state Director of DSS with a view to soliciting their support to provide security at the Complex, venue of the sitting.
