Ogenyi Onazi might be missing the next year’s Africa Cup of Nations due to an injury while he was playing for his club, Trabzonspor on Sunday.

The Super Eagles midfielder stretchered off on 32 minutes as his club Trabzonspor beat Rizespor 4-1 in Turkish League.

The President of Trabzonspor Ahmet Agaoglu revealed that the player suffered ruptured achilles tendon and this might be his last match of the season.

In his words: ”Unfortunately Onazi suffered a ruptured achilles tendon. His season may well be over.”

Onazi might not be able to recover ahead next year’s Africa Cup of Nations which is staged in June 2019.
