NJC call for emergency meeting over suspension of Onnoghen

The National Judicial Council (NJC) has called for an emergency meeting over the suspension of Walter Onnoghen as chief justice of Nigeria (CJN).

The meeting will be held in Abuja by 10am on Monday, okay reports.

Neither Onnoghen, whose suspension has become a subject of controversy, nor Ibrahim Muhammad, the acting CJN, will be allowed to preside over the meeting.

okay recalls that Justice Walter Nkanu Samuel Onnoghen was suspended on Friday by President Muhammadu Buhari pending the conclusion his trial at Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) over a non-declaration of assets.
