Access Bank denies plans to acquire Union Bank

Access Bank Plc has denied reports claiming that its planing to acquire Union Bank Nigeria Plc.

The management of commercial bank in a notice to the Nigeria Stock Exchange (NSE) denied move.

The notice read: “Our attention has been drawn to the recent social media report of Access Bank Plc being talks to acquire Union Bank of Nigeria Plc.
“The Nigerian Stock Exchange and the general public are hereby advised to discountenance such rumour, as same is devoid of truth. The bank is not engaged in any discussion with Union Bank of Nigeria Plc or any of its shareholders regarding any such transaction”.

Okay.ng recalls that Access Bank earlier this year completed the acquisition of Diamond Bank.
