Another tanker fire disaster befell Anambra State in the early hours of Friday.

An eyewitness said the disaster occurred around 3:00 a.m.

The incident happened along the Enugu-Onitsha Expressway by Bessoy filling station, Onitsha, Anambra State.

This fire incident came 48 hours after lives were lost following a fuel tanker explosion in Upper Iweka by Ochanja market.

The tanker carrying petrol was said to have fallen in the middle of the road, spilling its contents into the drainages.

Some residents near the area fled their houses for fear of being consumed by the inferno.

The fire reportedly gutted properties worth millions of naira including buildings, vehicles and other valuables.

No casualty was recorded as of the time of filing the report.

The Commissioner of Police in the state, John Abang confirmed the incident.

He said, “This time around the fire service responded well after they were contacted by my men.”
