Burna Boy reacts to first-ever Grammy nomination

Nigerian International singer Burna Boy has reacted to his first-ever nomination for Grammy Awards.

Okay.ng had reported on Wednesday that Burna Boy’s album ‘African Giant’ was nominated for the “Best World Music Album” category in the Grammy Awards 2020.

Nominated in the same category as Burna Boy are Altin Gün (GECE); Bokanté & Metropole Orkest Conducted By Jules Buckley (WHAT HEAT); Nathalie Joachim With Spektral Quartet (FANM D’AYITI) and Angelique Kidjo (CELIA).

The news has since received accolades from Nigerians worldwide.

Burna Boy in reaction to the nomination on Twitter thanked his fans and the recording academy for supporting him and the album.

“African Giant Album is nominated for Best world music Album at the Grammys⁠ !

“Thank you @RecordingAcad and everyone supporting me and the album!,” Burna Boy tweeted.

With this nomination, Burna Boy joins the likes of King Sunny Ade, Seun Kuti, and Femi Kuti, who have been previously shortlisted for the award.
