Napoli striker, Victor Osimhen, has added another prestigious award to his collection by being named the Italian Footballers’ Association Footballer of the Year.

The ceremony, held on Monday night, celebrated Osimhen’s outstanding performance with Napoli during the previous season.

Osimhen’s impact was pivotal in Napoli securing their first Scudetto in 33 years, with the Nigerian striker netting an impressive tally of 26 goals.

This recognition further solidifies his status as one of the most outstanding footballers, not only in Italy but on the global stage.

The award ceremony also acknowledged excellence in various categories, including the team of the year, coach of the year, club of the year, and goal of the season.

Osimhen’s individual brilliance has also earned him nominations for prestigious awards like the FIFA Best and the Ballon d’Or.

The Napoli striker has consistently demonstrated his goal-scoring prowess, earning him a well-deserved spot in the Serie A team of the year.

The team includes notable names like Mike Maignan, Giovanni Di Lorenzo, Kim Min-jae, Andrea Bastoni, Theo Hernández, Stanislav Lobotka, Hakan Çalhanoğlu, Nicolo Barella, Rafael Leão, and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.

Despite facing a more challenging start to the 2023-24 campaign and recent struggles with injury, Osimhen has maintained an impressive goals-per-game ratio, finding the back of the net six times in 10 appearances after 14 games.
