The contract between Portuguese football manager José Mourinho and AS Roma has officially concluded, as confirmed by a statement released on the football club’s website on Tuesday.

The statement conveyed that Mourinho and his coaching staff will be departing the club with immediate effect.

AS Roma expressed gratitude to Mourinho for his passion and efforts during his tenure with the club.

Despite acknowledging the positive memories associated with Mourinho’s time at Roma, the club emphasized that an immediate change was deemed to be in the best interests of AS Roma.

The club’s official statement read, “AS Roma can confirm that José Mourinho and his coaching staff will leave the club with immediate effect. We would like to thank José on behalf of all of us at AS Roma for his passion and efforts since his arrival at the club. We will always have great memories of his tenure at Roma, but we believe that an immediate change is in the best interests of the club. We wish José and his assistants all the best in their future endeavors.”

José Mourinho was unveiled as the 60th coach of AS Roma in May 2021. Under his leadership, the team achieved success by winning the Conference League in Tirana on May 25, 2022, and reaching the Europa League final in Budapest during the last season.

The statement also mentioned that updates regarding the new first-team coaching staff would be provided shortly.
