Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State has signed the new emirate council law, marking a significant development in the state’s governance structure.

According to Daily Trust, the signing ceremony took place at the Government House on Thursday evening, precisely at 5:10 pm.

In attendance were the governor’s deputy, the Speaker of the State Assembly, and other principal officers in the government.

The new law is expected to bring changes to the emirate council, but details of the law’s provisions have not been disclosed yet.

This development comes after the Kano State House of Assembly repealed the Kano State Emirs (Appointment and Deposition) Law earlier on Thursday, paving the way for the reinstatement of Muhammad Sanusi II as the 14th Emir of Kano.
