Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has declared that divine intervention has eliminated all obstacles facing his administration. Speaking at a Praise Night event organized to commemorate his first year in office, Fubara emphasized his commitment to prioritizing the interests of Rivers State under the “Rivers First” mantra.

The event, held at the Obi Wali International Conference Centre in Port Harcourt on Friday night, saw attendance from prominent figures including Fubara and his wife, Lady Valarie Siminalayi Fubara; Deputy Governor, Prof. Ngozi Odu; former Governor Peter Odili and his wife, Justice Mary Odili (rtd); Chief Judge, Justice Simeon Amadi; and factional Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Victor Oko-Jumbo. Other attendees included Senator John Mbata, state officials, stakeholders, traditional rulers, and hundreds of residents. The night featured performances by gospel artists such as Prince Emmanuel, Preye Odede, Joe Praise, Sensational Bamidele, Buchi, and Afy Douglas.

Addressing the audience through Deputy Governor Odu, Fubara expressed confidence in the divine support for his administration. “My boss and brother, you are victorious already. The good Lord has rolled away the stone. We shall continue to have this shared vision of putting Rivers State first,” Odu conveyed. She urged all Rivers residents to contribute to the administration’s vision for advancing the state’s fortunes.

Fubara underscored the significance of collective effort, stating, “We need all of you, big and small to be there for us, to chip-in the little or the much you can, and at the end of this our first tenure, you will see where God will take Rivers State to.”

The Governor also highlighted the spiritual essence of the Praise Night, noting the prophetic declarations made by the performing artists. “It wasn’t just them singing and dancing, I think there were spiritual ministrations that they have made, and they have also made prophetic declarations that we all say amen to,” he said.

He assured the people that God had permanently resolved the challenges faced by his administration, drawing a biblical parallel with the story of Gideon. “Because what God has done, it shall be permanent, because any mountain, like the word of God says, ‘who is that mountain before Zerubbabel, it will be made a plain,’” he affirmed.

Fubara called on Rivers residents to maintain their support and contribute towards the state’s sustainable development.
