Renowned Nigerian rapper Olamide has announced the release of his latest project titled Ikigai, scheduled to drop on May 26, 2023.

The project features seven tracks and boasts guest appearances from Fireboy DML, Asake, Pheelz, Young John, and Lil Kesh.

The title Ikigai is derived from a Japanese concept that signifies a sense of purpose or a reason for being. It is often described as the intersection of what you love, what you’re good at, what the world needs, and what you can be rewarded for. This profound theme is expected to resonate throughout the project, reflecting Olamide’s journey and artistry.

Olamide, born Olamide Adedeji, is one of the most successful and influential artists in Nigerian music history.

He began his music career in 2000 and released his debut album, Rapsodi, in 2011. The album was a commercial success and established Olamide as one of Nigeria’s leading rappers.

Since then, he has released a total of 10 studio albums, numerous singles, and collaborations. Some of his most popular songs include Eleda Mi, Wo, Science Student, Motigbana, Infinity, and Julie.

In addition to his own success, Olamide is known for his significant contributions to the development of new artists.

He founded the record label YBNL (Yahoo Boy No Laptop) in 2012, which has nurtured talents like Fireboy DML, Asake, B Banks, Jayboi, DJ Enimoney, and Senth.

The label has also been home to former artists such as Lil Kesh, Lyta, Adekunle Gold, and Yomi Blaze.

The track list for Ikigai includes:
