Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, National Leader of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), has advised Nigerians to employ the power of the ballot box to resolve the current economic hardship in the country, rather than resorting to protests.

In a statement published on his official social media handle, Kwankwaso acknowledged the frustration and yearning for a better Nigeria, but urged citizens to be patient with the Bola Tinubu government and give it necessary support to succeed.

He emphasized that protests, while a democratic right, can have unforeseen and dire consequences, including violence, loss of lives, and destruction of property. Instead, Kwankwaso advocated for channeling energy into a more effective and peaceful means of transformation through the power of the ballot.

The former Kano State governor attributed the current economic crisis to bad leadership, stating that the hardship and hunger spreading across the country was avoidable. He called for good governance, respect for the rule of law, transparency, and accountability to address the challenges facing the country.
