Pirates Strike, Abduct 10 passengers In Rivers

Ten passengers have been abducted at the aftermath of suspected pirates attack on boat passengers in the Bonny waterway in Rivers State on Monday.

Report has it that the incident occurred when the boat was travelling from Bonny to port Harcourt at around 10km.

The incident was confirmed by the maritime workers union in the state.

The incident was confirmed to the press on Monday in Port Harcourt by Israel Pepple, The State Chairman of the Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria, Rivers Commercial District.

He stated that the Police has been informed about the incident, he therefore beckons on the government and various security agencies to expedite security actions in the waterways to curb occurring attacks on the sea.
