Lagos State Zone of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU will hold a protest today, Tuesday, in solidarity for five sacked lecturers of the Lagos State University, Ojo.

Report has it that they were illegally dismissed by LASU.

This was contained in a statement made available to newsmen.

The statement reads, “This is to respectfully invite you to the National Day of Solidarity Rally in support of five of our members illegally dismissed from service by the inept, inglorious and vindictive an administration at the Lagos State University, Ojo.”

The rally will commence by 10 am.

It was reported that in 2019, the university’s management dismissed various ASUU members, including Isaac Oyewumi, the union’s chairman; Adebowale Adeyemi-Suenu, vice chairman; Dr. Tony Dansu, secretary; Adeolu Oluwaseyi Oyekan, assistant secretary; and Oluwakemi Aboderin-Shonibare, treasurer.

The university stated that accusations of unauthorised removal, retention, distribution, or publication of official confidential documents led to the dismissal of the lecturers.

However, various reports shows that the affected lecturers had debunked the allegations.
