The Imo State Police Command has apprehended three individuals suspected to be members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) after a coordinated raid on a hideout in Cameron Street, Ubahu, Okigwe LGA, okay.ng reports.

The operation, which took place in the early hours of Thursday, April 17, 2025, was executed by tactical police teams and local vigilantes acting on credible intelligence.

During the raid, a gun battle ensued, resulting in two suspects fleeing into the bush, while three others—Onyekaba Ikenna Innocent (21), Ugwu Ikenna (31), and Ofor Kasarachi (37)—were detained. The police recovered significant items including an AK-47 rifle, two pump-action shotguns, eighteen live cartridges, multiple mobile devices, laptops, and ₦10.3 million in cash.

Police spokesperson Henry Okoye stated, “The recovered cash, based on preliminary investigations, is believed to have been contributed by IPOB members to finance acts of terrorism.” He added that the command, led by CP Aboki Danjuma, remains committed to eradicating criminal elements in the state.
