Invited by the Pope himself, Tinubu praised the new pontiff’s humility and his historical relationship with Nigeria.

“The humility and message of peace from Pope Leo XIV remind us of the moral leadership the world desperately needs,” Tinubu stated.

He reaffirmed Nigeria’s dedication to fostering harmony across different faiths and ethnicities, saying, “As a nation of deep faith and great diversity, Nigeria remains committed to building bridges across belief, race, and continent-for peace, for progress, and for all of humanity.”
